After School with CATCH
CATCH Kids Club (CKC) brings healthy activity to after-school and community recreation programs for children in grade K-5. CKC is composed of nutrition education materials (including snack activities) and a physical activity component. The program is designed with a format that makes it easy for staff to implement and is enjoyable for all.
The YMCA of Greater Rochester, New York
CATCH recently visited the YMCA of Greater Rochester to check up on its implementation of the CATCH Program into their after-school setting. As an established community leader with over 150 years of presence in the Greater Rochester area, the YMCA through its Activate America initiative has formed partnerships throughout the area to bring best practices into their after-school programs. One of these programs is CATCH, and they have been able to incorporate the CATCH Kids Club into their after-school settings. Now in its third year, the program has been called a success and makes the Greater Rochester YMCA one of the largest CATCH After-School Programs in the country (40 sites) that implements all components of the CATCH Kids Club.

CATCH Kids Club Nutrition
The CATCH after-school education and summer enrichment program teaches children the nutrition knowledge, skills and self-reliance that empowers them to make healthy dietary and physical activity choices.
This manual is for the teacher and non-professional instructor. It features easy-to-teach sessions with stories, rhymes, games, and songs. Handouts, nutrition facts, posters, and food label information are part of the teaching aids. Home Letters in both English and Spanish help to reinforce the positive behaviors at home. 356 pages.
CATCH Kids Club Activity Box
The CATCH Kids Club Activity box includes over 300, 5" x 8" activity cards designed for after-school/summer programs and community youth organizations. Each color-coded card gives simple, easy-to-follow instructions for fun activities that keep kids moving. All games are non-elimination. Activity cards come in a sturdy, plastic box with carry handle. The CATCH Kids Club equipment coordinates with the activity cards.
