CATCH Can with We Can! TM

CATCH recently teamed up with our friends at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to offer CATCH Kids Club trainings to more than 200 people across the country. Our very own Jim DeLine from the University of Texas traveled to Carson City , Nevada (October 29-30) and then on to Harrisburg , Pennsylvania (November 5-6) to represent CATCH as part of two We Can! Regional Trainings. At each site, participants enjoyed two days of instruction and interactive sessions from leading national experts on programs and materials designed to help prevent childhood overweight. The events also provided ample time for networking with other community members around the country who are concerned about the growing problem of childhood overweight.
We Can! is a science-based program developed by NIH to help children and families maintain a healthy weight. The program provides a variety of evidence-based resources to help communities mobilize around educating families and youth. Download the We Can! Fact Sheet to learn more about the program, or visit the We Can! Trainings page to learn more about the events and download training PowerPoint presentations. You can also call toll-free at (866) 35-WECAN to speak with an information specialist about the program. Thanks to We Can! and NIH for hosting this opportunity! Together CATCH and We Can! are making a difference!
