The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports
Announcement
The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (PCPFS) is launching the first-ever National President's Challenge in March. The six week fitness challenge will encourage Americans to be active 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Children will need to be active for 60 minutes a day, five days a week. This is the first time in its 50 year history that the President's Council is taking the Challenge outside of the schools and calling on the nation to get fit and adopt healthier lifestyles.
As you know, the President's Challenge is a physical fitness test for students. Now, everyone can participate in the Challenge. Encouraging children to engage in activities that improve fitness throughout the National Challenge may improve student scores on the President's Challenge health or physical fitness tests. This is a great opportunity for schools to join the Challenge and encourage families and the local community to participate as well.
